The flood warning for the River Swale at Helperby remains in force. River levels are rising as a result of recent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is possible. The level at Crakehill is 5.23m and rising. No further significant rainfall is expected today, Thursday 21/01/2021. Areas most at risk are properties in Helperby. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and stay aware in case further warnings are issued. Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the forecast. Please see the GOV.UK website for current river levels. This message will be updated in 8 hours or as the situation changes.
