The flood warning for the River Swale at Thornton Bridge remains in force. River levels are rising as a result of recent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is possible on Thursday 21/01/2021. The level at Crakehill is 5.21m and rising. No further significant rain is expected today. Areas most at risk are access roads at Thornton Bridge. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and stay aware in case further warnings are issued. Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the forecast. Please see the GOV.UK website for current river levels. This message will be updated in 8 hours, or as the situation changes.
