Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood warning

Property flooding remains possible. River levels are falling slowly on the River Thames in the Playhatch, Sonning and Sonning Eye areas following recent heavy rainfall and water moving downstream. Flooding of low lying land, roads and property remains possible overnight, 09/01/2024, especially in the areas closest to the river. Areas most at risk are those closest to the river including Long Gardens and properties along Playhatch Road. The forecast is for tonight and tomorrow to be dry. We expect river levels to remain high as water moves downstream, but levels will continue to gradually fall over the coming days. We are monitoring the situation. Activate any property flood protection products such as flood barriers. Be aware of flood water that may remain on the floodplain as river levels recede. Go to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels. Be aware of flooded roads, do not drive through floodwater. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 10/01/24, or as the situation changes.
