Flooding possible. Be prepared.
The water level in the Tadburn Lake at Botley Road is high. Heavy rain has fallen over the last 24 hours with 32 mm recorded at Romsey. This is close to half a month's rain on a wet catchment. This morning, surface water flooding may affect property at the top of the river near Jenner Way and Sewards Rise. This could occur as very high levels in the river prevent water on land from draining to the river channel. Showers may continue to affect the area over the next 24 hours. While the river remains high any additional rain may not drain into the river. Our operational staff are checking the flood defence walls remain undamaged and are ensuring the river is free of blockages. For those who have pumps to protect property, please ensure they are working correctly. This Flood Alert will be updated at 18:00 on 27/01/2025.
