Flooding expected. Take action now.
Water levels in the Scrapsgate Drain remain high following the rainfall on Thursday. Flooding of property, roads and low lying land is expected to continue this morning, Friday 15 January. Flooding is affecting properties on and around Broadway Road and Minster Park and other low lying areas. Water levels in the Warden Bay Drain have fallen and are no longer impacting properties directly. The weather forecast is expected to be dry until Saturday, so current water levels in the Scrapsgate Drain will continue falling slowly and flooding is expected to continue throughout Friday. Water levels may yet rise slightly around 2pm on Friday, but will be no higher than they were yesterday. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff have been working in the area clearing trash screens and supporting our partners. Please remain aware of your conditions locally and where possible avoid contact with flood water. This message will be updated by 5pm today.
