Flood alert

High tides are expected to cause flooding over the evening tide on Wenesday 4th February and the morning tide on Thursday 5 February.

Areas particularly at risk include low lying coastal communities including
Swanpool, St.Mawes, East Portholland, Mevagissey, Polmear, Par, and Polkerris.

The high tide at Falmouth on Wednesday evening is 7:21pm and Thursday morning is at 7:36am,times of high water will vary along the coast.

Forecast total high tide level is 2.66m & 2.95mAOD respectively. Expect tide levels along the coast to be between 0.5 and 0.7 metres above tide table level. Force 7 Easterly winds tonight moving to force 4 Southerly winds on Thursday and offshore wave heights of over 2m are forecast over the high tide.
Coastal conditions should ease for Thursday evening's high tide.

We are closely monitoring the situation.

Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded.
