Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

The river levels in the upper Parrett and the River Isle have now fallen but considerable water remains on the Somerset Levels and Moors with flooding continuing to affect low-lying land and roads. The lower River Parrett remains bank-full and spillways are running. Monday is expected to be dry, however there is a band of more sustained rain is forecasted all day Tuesday. River levels are expected to rise in response to the forecasted rainfall. We are closely monitoring the situation and Field Teams are out clearing debris screens and checking rivers for blockages. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. Remain aware of local water levels and weather conditions and don’t put yourself or others at risk. This message will be updated by 1pm on 03 February 2026, or as the situation changes.
