Flood warning

This message has been issued because there may be some issues with surface water flooding, and difficult driving conditions over the next few hours, and into this afternoon, Saturday 30th January. The River is reacting quickly, and continuing to rise in response to the current rainfall. Areas most at risk are Noak Bridge, Barleylands Road, Southend Road, and riverside properties in Wickford. We are not currently expecting the situation to escalate. The forecast is for some heavy rainfall this morning, and into this afternoon, with no further significant rain forecast tomorrow. Flood water is dangerous. Don't put yourself or others at risk. We are monitoring the situation, and will update this message by 6pm today.
