Flooding possible. Be prepared.
High tides, strong winds and large waves this afternoon may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible between 11:00am and 13:00pm today, Tuesday 17th February.
The flood gates at Felixstowe seafront will be closed. The waterfront at Pin Mill, and The Strand at Wherstead under the Orwell Bridge may be flooded. Water may be on the quay at Mistley. The detailed forecast is for a peak level at Harwich of 2.54 mAODN at 12:00pm, on Tuesday 17th February, which is 0.73m above tide tables, Wind Force 5, North Westerly. The low pressure system across the North Sea will continue to keep higher than usual tides over the next few days.
We are closely monitoring the situation .
Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded .
