Flood alert

The Western Rother is higher than normal at Fittleworth. Flood water will continue to be in fields close to isolated Mill properties. Rain is forecast from Wednesday afternoon to Thursday. From 22:00 on 18/02/2026, minor flooding could affect fields, roads and gardens in Liss and Sheet. From 02:00 on 19/02/2026, flooding could affect gardens in Iping. From 12:00 on 19/02/2026, flooding could affect isolated properties at Lodsbridge and Fittleworth. If more rain occurs than expected, isolated property flooding is possible. Only isolated showers are forecast Thursday afternoon, Friday, and over the weekend. River levels should peak by Thursday morning (Liss) or Thursday evening (Fittleworth), and continue to slowly fall on Friday and through the weekend. Unsettled weather could continue throughout February, with further periods of flood risk possible. Consider activating any flood protection products you may have in Lodsbridge and Fittleworth. This message will be updated by 20:00 on 19/02/2026.
