Flooding expected. Take action now.
A flood warning has been issued as strong winds may cause a tidal surge for this evening’s tide. A series of high tides are due over the next 2 days. High tides may impact properties and roads in and around Elmdale, Chepstow.
Predicted peaks.
Newport 7.3m to 7.6m at 22:00 on 22/08/2024 and 7.0m to 7.4m at 10:30 on 23/08/2024.
Avonmouth Portbury 7.7 to 8.0m at 22:15 on 22/08/2024 and 7.4 to 7.8m at 10:30 on 23/08/2024.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences.
Please move possession and valuables off the ground or to safety.
