Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood warning

High river levels are expected to cause flooding on Tuesday. 
Flooding is expected on 27 January 2026 from 14:00. 25mm of rain has fallen, with more forecast. 
The Anchor Inn, fields, and gardens are expected to flood. Anchor Lane and Barcombe Mills road are likely to be impassable. From 20:00 isolated properties at Barcombe Mills could also flood. River levels could end up similar to 16/01/2026. Rain is forecast to stop around 13:00 27/01/2026, with only isolated showers Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday. River levels and flood risk should begin to reduce in Barcombe by 08:00 28/01/2026, but will remain higher than normal until Friday. 
We are closely monitoring the situation and operating our structures at Anchor Gates and Barcombe Mills. 
Activate any flood protection products you may have . Including at Barcombe Mills. Avoid Barcombe Mills Road and Anchor Lane. 
This message will be updated by 1:00PM on 28 January 2026 or as the situation changes.
