Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood warning

The River Ouse is high near Barcombe, but now falling following Friday's rain. A small amount of rain Saturday morning may cause a small river rise through to Saturday afternoon. River levels should not rise higher than Friday. Through Saturday, minor flood impacts will continue to affect the Anchor Inn, and gardens in Barcombe Mills, as well as fields and roads including Anchor Lane and Barcombe Mills Road. Only isolated showers are forecast Saturday afternoon and for the remainder of this weekend. River levels should fall by Saturday evening, if not before. Unsettled weather could continue throughout February. On Tuesday and Wednesday bands of rain are forecast. If as much rain falls as predicted, from Tuesday evening, flooding could again affect isolated properties in Barcombe. We are operating structures at Barcombe to reduce flood risk. Avoid roads that flood, including Barcombe Mills Road. This message will be updated by 20:00 08/02/2026.
