Flooding possible. Be prepared.
River levels in Hellingly and Alfriston have now fallen significantly following Wednesday's rain. Only minimal residual flood impacts affecting fields are expected to remain. A small amount of light rain is expected Sunday morning. Less than 5mm of rain. Only a minimal rise in river level is expected Sunday. Rain is predicted to clear away Sunday afternoon. No more than an isolated shower is predicted Monday through to Friday. River levels should remain low, or perhaps fall a little further next week. Don't put yourself or others at risk. Avoid roads that flood (Mill Lane, Church Road Hellingly, North Street Alfriston). This message will be updated by 20:00 on 23/02/2026.
