Flood warning

Higher than normal tides are expected to cause flooding overnight.

Highest tide level is expected to be at 12:30 AM on 19/10/2024. Flooding is possible several hours either side of this time.

Areas most at risk include Roa Island, Rampside, A5087 coast road, Aldingham, South Ulverston, Canal Foot, Greenodd, Cark, West Plain Farm, Grange-over-Sands, Meathop, Milnthorpe, B5282 coast road, Sandside and Arnside.

High tides on Saturday 19/10/2024 will remain above the Flood Alert level but we do not expect to need to issue a further Flood Warning. However, a combination of spring tides, strong winds and low pressure on Sunday may lead to further Flood Warnings being issued on the 20/10/2024.

We have closed flood gates at Arnside promenade.

Stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous. Please don't put yourself or others at risk.

This message will be updated by 9:00 AM on 19/10/2024, or as the situation changes.
