Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood warning

Property flooding is expected. River levels rose sharply overnight on the Ginge Brook at Steventon as a result of Storm Bert. Therefore, flooding of property and roads is expected. Areas most at risk are High Street, Milton Lane, Kennel Lane, The Causeway, Barnett Road, Abingdon Road, St Michaels Way, Stonebridge Road, Franks Lane and Milton Mill. Further rainfall which could be heavy at times is forecast today 24/11/24. We expect river levels to fall during the day today before rising again this afternoon and this evening. Levels this evening are forecast to peak higher than levels last night, and higher than levels in January 2024, and therefore additional property flooding is possible. Our staff are liaising with councils and emergency services. Go to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels. Activate any property flood protection products such as flood barriers. Do not drive through flood water. This message will be updated later this afternoon, 24/11/24.
