Flooding possible. Be prepared.
Groundwater levels are high but continue to fall slowly. At our borehole in Harestock, the level has fallen by 53cm in the last week. Residual flood water may still be affecting Springvale Road through Kings Worthy. Unsettled weather is forecast to affect Hampshire over the next 4 days with between 30 and 50mm of rain expected. Groundwater levels are expected to fall slowly, but if the heaviest rain in the forecast affects the area, then levels may begin to rise once more. If this occurs, road flooding in Kings Worthy will become deeper, and in Martyr Worthy, Chilland and Easton, some properties may begin to experience some internal flood impacts as water seeps up through floors. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. If you have pumps to help reduce water levels, please ensure that they can operate. This Flood Alert will be updated by 18:00 on Tuesday 09/04/2024.
