Flooding possible. Be prepared.
High groundwater levels may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible as a lot of rain (49mm) has fallen in the last week.
Flooding is affecting Springvale Road in Kings Worthy. In Martyr Worthy, Chilland and Easton drainage ditches and culverts are full and less effective as natural flow paths are restricted. Some properties may be affected as water seeps up through floors. Footpaths near the river will also become inaccessible. On Wednesday 18/02/2026 further rain, which could possibly be heavy, is expected to affect Hampshire. If heavy rain continues to affect the area, cellar flooding is possible in Littleton within the next week. Otherwise groundwater levels will continue to rise slowly for much of this week.
We are closely monitoring the situation .
Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed .
