Flooding possible. Be prepared.
Groundwater levels are high and rising slowly. At our borehole in Harestock, the level started to rise on Tuesday 02/04/2024 and has since risen by 66cm. Groundwater will be impacting Springvale Road through Kings Worthy. From today (09/04/2024) until Saturday (13/04/2024), very little rain is forecast. Groundwater levels are expected to peak by this weekend. There is a possibility that, from Friday (12/04/2024), some properties in Martyr Worthy, Chilland and Easton may experience some internal flood impacts as water seeps through floors. If dry weather is forecast next week, there is a possibility that we will remove this Flood Alert. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. Please remain prepared for further flooding impacts as groundwater levels will be sensitive to further rainfall. This Flood Alert will be updated or removed by 18:00 on Tuesday 16/04/2024.
