Flooding expected. Take action now.
Following nearly a month’s rainfall over the past week, and 20mm Thursday night, river levels are still very high on the River Arun. Flood impacts will likely continue until Sunday 22/12/2019. Locations to be affected will include properties of Tanbridge Park, Riverside and near Provender Mill. A small amount of rain in the early hours of Saturday will be followed by more widespread rain between 17:00 Saturday 21/12/2019, and 08:00 Sunday 22/12/2019. While river levels may fall slightly Friday night and Saturday morning, by Sunday (22/12/2019) river levels will return to heights similar to those experienced on Friday, if not higher. Some roads may become impassable. Please plan to avoid driving through routes vulnerable to flooding. Our automatic sluice at Provender Mill is operating to help reduce the risk of flooding. We will update this message by 17:00 21/12/2019.
