Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

The Langney Haven is high following weeks of rain. Light rain is forecast for much of Tuesday, with some slightly heavier rain Tuesday afternoon. The Langney Haven is expected to rise a little. Minor flooding could affect gardens of properties of Langney Green. Fields and parkland including Shinewater Park will also be affected . Rain is forecast to stop by 21:00 03/02/2026. Only isolated showers are predicted Wednesday. River levels should begin to fall Wednesday afternoon, but will not fall far. More rain is forecast Thursday. Minor flooding will continue, and may approach properties Thursday. River levels could remain high for a fortnight. We are closely monitoring the situation and operating structures at Fence Bridge and Crumbles to reduce flood risk. Consider activating any flood protection products you may have . Install flood protection products in Langney Green. This message will be updated by 20:00 on 04 February 2026.
