Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

High river levels over the next two days may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible on 22/02/2026 because of above average rainfall in January and February. Minor flood impacts may continue at Bishopstoke Road Playing Fields and possibly some gardens in Bishopstoke. Water may also affect the top of Duttons Lane and Withy Meadows, Eastleigh. Tomorrow, some areas may receive more heavy rain, up to 18mm is possible. The flow in the Itchen has been slowly decreasing, but any further rainfall will cause it to rise again. From Monday 23/02/26 to Wednesday 25/02/26, minimal rain is forecast each day (up to 1mm). This will give the river a chance to recover. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and managing sluices at Bishopstoke and Stoke Lock. Consider activating any flood protection products you may have. This message will be updated by 18:00 on 23/02/2026.
