Flood alert

River levels have fallen slightly on the Little Stour and Nailbourne during April but flooding may continue to affect low lying land and roads along the Nailbourne around Elham, Barham, Bridge and Bekesbourne, and on the Little Stour around Littlebourne and Wickhambreux. Please avoid driving or walking through floodwater.
As of Thursday 2 May 2024, the forecast is for localised storms and showers over the weekend with drier conditions following by the middle of next week. We are actively monitoring the situation, liaising with partners, and our staff are maintaining and clearing key structures. The Littlebourne Flood Relief channel is operating.
This message will be updated by 6pm on Thursday 9 May 2024, or as the situation changes.
