Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

Whilst river levels have fallen slightly on the Little Stour and Nailbourne since April, flooding may still continue to affect low lying land and roads along the Nailbourne around Elham, Barham, Bridge and Bekesbourne, and on the Little Stour around Littlebourne and Wickhambreux. Please avoid driving or walking through floodwater.
As of Thursday 9th May 2024, the forecast is for drier conditions followed by what could be showers next week. We are actively monitoring the situation, liaising with partners, and our staff are maintaining and clearing key structures. The Littlebourne Flood Relief channel is still operating.
This message will be updated by 6pm on Friday 17th May 2024 or as the situation changes.
