Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels have risen rapidly as a result of persistent heavy rainfall and rapid snow melt due to Storm Bert. Consequently, flooding of property is likely. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Calder, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around Horbury at Strands Cottage. We expect river levels to peak at between 8:30pm and 9:30pm today, Saturday 23 November 2024. Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the forecast. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
This message will be updated by 04:30am on Saturday 23 November 2024, or as the situation changes.
