Flood warning

River levels remain high resulting from persistent heavy rainfall and rapid snow melt due to Storm Bert. Whilst levels have fallen, rainfall overnight and through the morning today on Sunday 24 November 2024 has seen levels rise again. River levels are expected to peak between midday and 14:00 today. However, levels are not expected to get as high as they did yesterday on Saturday 23 November.

Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Calder, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around Horbury at Strands Cottage. Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the forecast. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.

This message will be updated by 24:00 on Sunday 24 November 2024, or as the situation changes.
