Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood Warning

River levels are forecast to rise at the Linstock river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall on the Pennines and with levels on the upper Eden at Appleby which caused flooding there only peaking over the last few hours. Consequently, the risk of flooding remains to isolated residential properties, farms and golf course facilities between Newby East and Low Crosby during this evening.
Further showers are forecast over this evening and overnight and we expect river levels to remain high until late tonight.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are liaising with emergency services.
Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
