River Eden between Newby East and Low Crosby

Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood Warning

River levels are raised at the Eden Valley river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, low lying roads and farmland is expected. Isolated residential properties, farms and golf course facilities between Newby East and Low Crosby are at risk. The River Eden level has peaked and for a short time will fall. However further rain will cause the level to rise and we expect it to peak again at around 10am on Sunday 16/02/20.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Please avoid using low lying footpaths and roads near local watercourses.
This message will be updated in 8 hours, or as the situation changes.
