Flooding expected. Take action now.
Property flooding is expected. River levels are high but dropping very slowly on the River Kennet following heavy rainfall from Storm Bert. Therefore, flooding of property and roads is expected to continue overnight, 26/11/2024. Areas most at risk are properties located around Burghfield Bridge and Burghfield Street.
The forecast is for further rainfall tonight (26/11/2024) into tomorrow. We expect river levels to continue to drop slowly overnight. Levels are sensitive to further rainfall and may rise again later in the week in response to forecast rainfall.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety. Activate any property flood protection products such as flood barriers. Go to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 27/11/2024, or as the situation changes.
