The Flood Warning for the River Nidd at Birstwith remains in force. River levels have peaked and will remain high, with no further rise forecast. Areas most at risk include properties situated along Wreaks Road, Clint Bank and Broom Field. The current level at Birstwith is 3.38m and is expected to remain steady throughout tonight, Sunday 20/02/22. Further rainfall is expected overnight and into tomorrow Monday 21/02/2022. We are monitoring river levels closely. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. Plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. Visit the GOV.UK website for a 5 day flood forecast and up to date river levels. This message will be updated by 09:00am on 21/02/2022, or as the situation changes.
