Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are high but continue to fall slowly at the Welshbridge river gauge. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is expected to continue. We expect flooding to affect Gravel Hill lane, Sydney Avenue & Victoria Avenue. Frankwell car park and St Julians Friars car park are flooded. The land behind wall at Coton Hill and the B5067 Berwick Road are also impacted by flooding.
Welshbridge peaked at 4.69m on Thursday morning 04/01/24.
Some heavy showers are forecast today, 05/01/24, but no further significant rainfall is expected. We expect river levels to remain high over the next few days. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
This message will be updated by 11am on Saturday 06/01/24, or as the situation changes.
