Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are rising at the Welshbridge river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is expected from today, 08/12/2024. We expect flooding to affect Gravel Hill lane, Sydney Avenue, Frankwell car park and Victoria Avenue. B5067, Berwick Road and St Julians Friars car park flooded. Predicted peak:- Welshbridge 3.7m to 4.2m Monday morning, 09/12/24.
Further showers are forecast over the next 48 hours. We expect river levels to remain high for the next few days.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and liaising with emergency services and Local Authorities.
Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
