Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels have peaked at the Welshbridge river gauge following heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland continues. We expect flooding to affect Gravel Hill lane, Sydney Avenue, Frankwell car park and Victoria Avenue. B5067, Berwick Road and St Julians Friars car park flooded. Predicted peak:- Welshbridge peaking now, 09/12/24.
No significant rainfall is forecast in the next few days. We expect river levels to remain high for several days.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and liaising with emergency services and Local Authorities.
Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
