Flooding expected. Take action now.
Property flooding is expected. River levels are rising slowly on the River Thames following heavy rainfall from Storm Bert. Therefore, flooding of property and roads is expected to continue today, 28/11/24. Peak levels are expected to be lower than those seen in the January 2024 event. Areas most at risk are Monmouth Road, Peel Place, Earl Street, Western Road, Duke Street, Buckingham Street, Folly Bridge, Wytham Street, West Way, Bulstake Close and Abingdon Road.
The forecast today is mainly dry. River levels are expected to continue falling today. We are monitoring the situation. The temporary defences at South Hinksey, West Street and South Street Osney Island have been deployed. Our staff are liaising with councils and emergency services. Move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety. Activate any property flood protection products such as flood barriers. This message will be updated this afternoon, 28/11/24, or earlier as the situation changes.
