Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood warning

Property flooding is expected.

River levels have peaked and are slowly falling on the River Thames and tributaries such as Bulstake Stream.

Flooding of property and roads is expected to continue overnight. Areas most at risk are Monmouth Road, Peel Place, Earl Street, Western Road, Duke Street, Buckingham Street, Folly Bridge, Wytham Street, West Way, Bulstake Close and Abingdon Road​.

The weather forecast is for predominantly dry conditions overnight with scattered showers in the coming days. River levels are expected to continue to lower as we move into Sunday but will remain high.

The temporary defences at South Hinksey, West Street and South Street Osney Island have been deployed. Our staff are liaising with councils and emergency services.

Move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety. Activate any property flood protection products such as flood barriers.

This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 01/12/2024, or as the situation changes.
