Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are high at the Colwick river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property is expected to begin between 17:00 and 19:00 today, 08/01/2024. Areas most at risk are Gunthorpe Riverdale Caravan Park and the A6097 Gunthorpe to Lowdham Road. Gunthorpe Bridge is likely to become impassable to traffic.
No further rainfall is forecast. We expect river levels to remain high until 10:00 on 09/01/2025.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses in the area and liaising with emergency services.
Please avoid contact with flood water and turn off gas, electricity and water.
