Flood warning

High river levels from heavy rain overnight are expected to cause flooding this afternoon. Flooding is expected from 13:00 on 27/11/2024. Areas most at risk include properties around Haxted Mill and Haxted Road. Weather conditions are expected to improve this afternoon with light showers on Thursday. We are closely monitoring the situation and checking rivers for blockages. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one. Stay away from floodwater - it contains hidden dangers such as open manhole covers, sewage and chemicals. This message will be updated by 8:00 PM on 27/11/2024, or as the situation changes.
