Flood warning

Flooding of low lying land and roads is possible over Sunday evening’s high tide due to spring tides and forecast strong wind and waves. Exposed coastal areas are particularly at risk.

High water at Newlyn is at 7:27pm on Sunday evening, times of high water vary along the coast, flooding is possible up to 1 hour either side of high tide.

Following some minor flood impacts over Sunday morning’s high tide, tide levels are lower, and weather conditions are expected to ease by Sunday evening’s high tide. However, flooding to low lying land and roads is still possible, and a flood alert remains in force.

From Monday no further flooding is forecast.

Do not walk or drive through flood water or waves. Consider installing flood protection products.

We are monitoring the situation and will update this information by 11am on Monday morning or if the situation changes.

Detailed tidal information; Forecast high tide level at Newlyn is 2.88m AOD.  Expect tide levels to be 0.2 to 0.3m above tide table level, with force 6 westerly winds and offshore wave heights of up to 4.6m.
