Flood alert

Water levels at Sherborne Lake are falling slowly but remain high. Rivers are at normal winter levels but are very responsive to rainfall. Flooding may affect locations near Sherborne Lake, the River Yeo, River Cam, River Wriggle, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around the Sparkford to Weston Bampfylde road and Deep Ford Lane, Chetnole.
Tuesday (17/02/26) will be largely dry with rainfall returning to the area through Wednesday afternoon and evening before clearing to the east. Subsequent days are forecast to see the continued theme of showery conditions.
We are monitoring rainfall and river levels. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 1PM on 18th February 2026 or as the situation changes.
