Flooding possible. Be prepared.
The water level in the Bourne Rivulet is high but stable. Upstream at Vernham Deane, the groundwater, which controls the level in the river, continues to rise slowly. Minor impact flooding is affecting land in St Mary Bourne. Very little rain is forecast for the next 5 days. This should enable groundwater and river levels to stabilise, however, the catchment remains sensitive to significant rainfall. Our flood barrier will remain in place at St Mary Bourne to reduce flood risk. We will update or remove this message by 15:00 on Monday 15/04/2024 or sooner if necessary.
