Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels remain high on Willow Beck and its tributaries due to recent persistent rainfall. Flooding may be affecting locations near Willow Beck, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around Alverton Lane, High Street (B1333), Friarage Street, East Road and The Friarage Hospital. Further rainfall is forecast on Friday afternoon 08/12/2023 and into the weekend. We are monitoring levels closely. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. This message will be updated by 6:00PM on 08/12/2023, or as the situation changes.
