Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are peaking on Willow Beck following heavy rainfall. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Willow Beck, with low-lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around Alverton Lane, High Street (B1333), Friarage Street, East Road and The Friarage Hospital. Some further rainfall is forecast overnight through to Tuesday morning, 30/01/2024, which is expected to keep river levels high. We will continue to closely monitor the situation. Avoid using low-lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses, and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. This message will be updated by 8:30am on Tuesday 30/01/2024, or as the situation changes.
