Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

Groundwater levels in Hursley are high but relatively stable. Widespread cellar flooding and sewerage system impacts are expected to be ongoing. Groundwater is currently close to the level that we expect isolated properties could experience internal ground floor flooding. Only a small amount of rain (between 10 and 20mm) is forecast to affect Hampshire between Monday 09/03/2026 and Friday 13/03/2026. Over the weekend and into next week, further unsettled weather is possible. Groundwater levels in Hursley will begin falling slowly this week, but further rain will prolong, and could increase, ongoing flooding impacts. We are closely monitoring the situation. Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed. This message will be updated by 18:00 16/03/2026.
