Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood warning

High river levels are expected to cause flooding on Tuesday. 
Flooding is expected on 27 January 2026 from 09:00. 20mm of rain has fallen, with more forecast. 
Flooding will affect properties on Mill Lane Hellingly, as well as Grove Hill near Grovebridge Farm, and Hammer Lane near Cowbeech. From 14:00 27/01/2026 flooding will also affect properties on Station Road, Church Lane and Church Road, Hellingly, as well as the roads, fields, and gardens. River levels could peak a little higher than 15/01/2026. Rain is forecast to stop around 13:00 27/01/2026, with only isolated showers Tuesday afternoon, and Wednesday. River levels and flood risk should begin to reduce in Hellingly by 23:00 27/01/2026, but will remain higher than normal until Thursday. 
We are closely monitoring the situation . 
Don't put yourself or others at risk Avoid roads that flood (Mill Road and Church Road).
