Flooding expected. Take action now.
The Western Rother is high and rising. 30mm of rain was recorded in Iping on Monday morning, and a month's worth of rain has fallen since Thursday. From 19:00 on Monday 24/02/2025, flood water will affect isolated properties at Lodsbridge, near Selham, as well as nearby fields, gardens, and rural roads. Only a small amount of rain is forecast Monday evening and Tuesday. The river should begin to fall by 23:00 on Monday 24/02/2025, and should return to normal from Wednesday 26/02/2025. River levels could end up a little higher than on 28/01/2025. There remains uncertainty in the weather forecast, but more rain and flood risk could be possible from Wednesday. Flood protection products are recommended to be installed at Lodsbridge, if you have them. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. We will update this message by 14:00 on 25/02/2025.
