Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood warning

High river levels are expected to cause flooding on Tuesday. 
Flooding is expected on 27 January 2026 from 20:00, as a lot of rain (30mm) fell on Tuesday. 
Flooding will affect fields, gardens, rural roads and properties at Lodsbridge, near Selham. Minor flood impacts could affect the A285 at Coultershaw Bridge, near Petworth. Properties on the Lod could also be affected, including near Lickfold Bridge, Highstead Lane and at Halfway Bridge. River levels could end up a little higher than on 22/01/2026. Rain is forecast to stop by 13:00, with only isolated showers Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday. River levels and flood risk should begin to reduce at Lodsbridge near Selham by 02:00 28/01/2026, but will not return near to normal until Friday. 
We are closely monitoring the situation . 
Activate any flood protection products you may have . Install flood protection products at Lodsbridge, if you have them. 
This message will be updated by 4:00PM on 28 January 2026 or as the situation changes.
