Flooding possible. Be prepared.
The River Arun is high in Pulborough, but falling following Friday's rain. Minor flood impacts will continue to affect fields, the A29, gardens of properties on Lower Street and Swan Corner, Pulborough and Bridge Cottages, Greatham. Over high tides (15:30 08/12/2026, 04:00 and 16:15 09/02/2026) water will be high up banks near Houghton Bridge, Amberley, near St Edmunds Cottage, Houghton, and may affect Queen Street riverside properties, and Mill Road car park Arundel. However, with tides now falling, water levels on the tidal Arun should peak a little lower than recent days. Only isolated showers are forecast this weekend. River levels should continue to fall. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday bands of rain are forecast. If as much rain falls as predicted, from Tuesday afternoon, river levels in Pulborough could rise again, although risk of property flooding may be more likely later in the week. Our pumps in Pulborough are running to help reduce flood risk. Consider activating any flood protection products you may have. This message will be updated by 20:00 09/02/2026.
