Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

The River Arun is high in Pulborough, but falling. Minor flood impacts will continue to affect fields, the A29, gardens of properties on Lower Street and Swan Corner, Pulborough and Bridge Cottages, Greatham. Now that tides are smaller only field flooding is expected near Houghton Bridge, Amberley, Houghton, and Arundel. Only isolated showers are forecast Tuesday. River levels will continue to fall. On Wednesday evening a band of rain is forecast. Currently thought to affect the Sussex coast, but if rain moves further inland, from Thursday evening 12/02/2026 river levels could rise and perhaps minor flooding could again affect gardens in Pulborough. Unsettled weather could continue throughout February. Our pumps in Pulborough are running to help reduce flood risk. Consider activating any flood protection products you may have. This message will be updated by 20:00 11/02/2026.
