Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

High river levels on Tuesday may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible on 10 February 2026 as more rain is forecast Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
Minor flooding will continue to affect the A29, gardens of properties on Lower Street and Swan Corner, Pulborough and Bridge Cottages, Greatham. Now that tides are smaller only field flooding is expected near Houghton Bridge, Amberley, Houghton, and Arundel. If as much rain falls as predicted Monday, then river levels at Pulborough will probably continue to fall. If more rain than predicted occurs, and further rain falls Tuesday, river levels could rise again Wednesday. Unsettled weather and more periods of rain are possible through the second half of the week, which could increase flood risk.
We are closely monitoring the situation Our pumps in Pulborough are running to help reduce flood risk.
Consider activating any flood protection products you may have Install flood protection products in Pulborough, Amberley and Arundel.
This message will be updated by 8:00PM on 10 February 2026 or as the situation changes.
