Flood alert

The River Adur is high following Wednesday's rain, but now falling. Minor flooding will continue to affect fields, roads potentially including the A281, and gardens of isolated properties at Mock Bridge near Shermanbury. Only isolated showers are forecast Thursday afternoon, Friday, and over the weekend. River levels should continue to fall, and return near to normal by Friday afternoon. However, unsettled weather could continue throughout February, so further periods of flood risk are possible. Avoid roads that flood, including the A281 at Mock Bridge. This message will be updated by 20:00 20/02/2026.
